GRAVEL CRUSHING

Bid Form

Sealed bids will be received by the Town of Bow until 1:30 PM (local time) on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 for Gravel Crushing to a maximum sieve size of 1.5” approximately 4,000 cubic yards or 6000 tons of gravel and recyclable asphalt from the Town’s gravel pit, in accordance with the following conditions. Total funds allocated for crushing services are $24,000. 

Bidders are encouraged to inspect the Town’s gravel pit to familiarize themselves with all conditions and circumstances.  Please contact Noel Gourley, Highway Superintendent, by email, ngourley@bownh.gov or by phone (603) 223-3934 to schedule the inspection.  The gravel pit is located at 21 Allen Road in Bow, NH. 

The successful bidder will be required to provide an insurance certificate confirming the following insurance coverage: worker’s compensation insurance as required by the State of New Hampshire; broad-form comprehensive general liability insurance in an amount of no less than $1,000,000 combined single limit per occurrence; and motor vehicle insurance to include bodily injury, property damage, uninsured motorist, and employer’s non-ownership coverage in an amount of no less than $1,000,000 combined single limit per occurrence.  The Town of Bow shall be named as an additional insured on all policies.  A bidder that does not presently have the above coverage should add to the bid price the cost to obtain this coverage specifically for this project.

The successful bidder must also agree in writing to indemnify the Town of Bow from any and all liability, loss or damage, including but not limited to bodily injury, illness, death, or property damage, which the Town becomes legally obligated to pay as a result of claims, demands, costs, or judgments against the Town arising out of the bidder’s actions or omissions relating to this project.

Bids shall be submitted on the Bid Form furnished herewith and shall include all necessary labor, equipment and mobilization costs to complete the crushing and shall exclude state and federal taxes not applicable to municipalities.  The time that is required to complete the crushing must be indicated on the Bid Form and shall be guaranteed.

Bids shall represent a price per cubic yard or tonnage of processed material.  The actual quantity of materials to be crushed may be more or less than 4,000 cubic yards and quantity may be dependent on the price per cubic yard.

The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities in the bids, and to accept the bid which best serves the interest of the Town.

Bids must be sealed and marked "Bid on Graveling Crushing" and be delivered to Town of Bow, Town Manager, 10 Grandview Road, Bow, NH 03304, by April 8, 2020 and at 1:30 PM when they will be opened publicly and read aloud.  For further information, please contact Noel Gourley, Highway Superintendent, by email, ngourley@bownh.gov or by phone (603) 223-3934.
