Volunteers Needed

Town of Bow News

The Town of Bow has several opportunities for residents to volunteer their time and serve on our various Committees, Commissions and Boards.
The following Boards, Commissions and Committees have vacancies:
Conservation Commission - The mission of the Bow Conservation Commission is to enhance the natural environment of Bow. We strive to accomplish this by managing our resources and preserving open space and water resources for sustainable uses including:
Environmental awareness and education
Forest management
Outdoor recreation
Drinking Water Protection Committee - The Bow Drinking Water Protection Committee was formed by the Board of Selectmen on May 10, 2005 to oversee the development of the Town’s 2006 Source Water Protection Plan (SWPP) for the Town's municipal public water systems.
Heritage Commission - The Mission of the Bow Heritage Commission is to research, identify, receive, preserve, protect, display and educate our citizens about the Town of Bow's Cultural and Historical Resources; and to advise and assist the Board of Selectmen, Planning Board, other agencies, organizations, and boards on matters affecting these resources.
Recycling and Solid Waste Committee - The Committee serves as a sounding board for the community for matters dealing with recycling and solid waste.
Zoning Board - The Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA) hear requests for Special Exceptions and Variances to the Zoning Ordinance due to hardship in the land and Special Exceptions for the specific Uses for the land.
