SB2 Official Ballot Referenda

On March 17, voters at the business portion of Town Meeting will be presented with the following article for consideration.:

Article 3. “Shall we adopt the provisions of RSA 40:13 (known as SB 2) to allow official ballot voting on all issues before the Town on the second Tuesday of March.” (3/5 majority ballot vote required)

SB2 (Official Ballot Referenda) is a form of town meeting that has two sessions. The first session is the Deliberative Session and the second session is Town Election Day.

Deliberative Session

At the Deliberative Session, voters will consider the annual budget and warrant articles proposed by the Selectmen, or submitted by voter petition. There will be opportunities for explanation and discussion of the articles. Articles may be amended at the Deliberative Session. For example, the dollar amount of an article can be amended. Proposed zoning changes may not be amended at this session.

The conclusion of each article will result in voting to either:

1) Add the article to the ballot for voting on Town Election Day in its original form, or
2) Add the article to the ballot for voting as amended at the deliberative session.

Town Election Day (2nd Tuesday in March)

On Town Election Day, voters will mark "yes" or "no" on each warrant article in the voting booth with the final outcome of each article being decided.

Town Roads have been "Posted"

It's officially mud season in New Hampshire and the Town has set temporary weight limits on certain Town roads. This is commonly referred to as "Posting." Towns have authority under state statute to set maximum weight limits upon any Class IV, V or VI highways under their regulatory control. As winter is coming to an end, the soils and pavements of highways freeze during the cooler overnight hours and then thaw during the relatively warm daylight hours. This “freeze-thaw cycle" can cause pavement to crack or break, and potholes to open. The roads will remain posted until further notice. Thank you for your cooperation.

If you have any questions, please contact the Department of Public Works at 223-3930.

To maintain accurate and up-to-date assessments, the Bow Assessing Department is conducting a cyclical review process, whereby all properties are inspected on a 4-year rotating basis. In this 2021 tax year, we will be reviewing the east section of Bow, which includes the      following streets
