Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Collection Day
Saturday, October 7, 20178:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Bow Community Building parking lot We will again have a company collecting electronics and computer related items for a modest fee.
WHAT TO BRING Fluorescent bulbs Waste oil Household chemicals Fertilizers Smoke detectors Household batteries (rechargeable only) Mercury thermometers Anti-freeze Oil-based paint Auto batteries Electronics & Computer-related Items (there will be a modest fee collected for electronics) Old sneakers

Calendar Highlights Stuffed Animal Sleepover: Friday, 9/29 September 29, 2017, 5:30 PM?-?7:00 PM @ Baker Free Library Join us for a special pajama storytime for you and one of your stuffed animal friends! After the story, stuffed animals are invited to stay at the library for a sleepover. Pick them up the following day (9/30) and see what fun they got into overnight. Friends of the Baker Free Library - Book Donation Day September 30, 2017, 10:00 AM?-?4:00 PM @ Baker Free Library Donations will be reviewed at the time of donation and books that are not accepted will be returned with the donor immediately. We are looking for books in gently used condition. We do not accept text books, encyclopedias, magazines, or CD/audiotapes. Dragon Flies & Damsels, by Bow Garden Club October 2, 2017, 6:00 PM?-?8:30 PM @ Bow Old Town Hall “Dragon Flies & Damsels” - Avian Conservationist Pam Hunt of the NH Audubon will provide an overview of the biology and ecology of dragonflies and damselflies and will highlight some of New Hampshire’s notable species during her presentation. NOTE: All Bow Garden Club meetings are held at the Old Town Hall, 91 Bow Center Road, Bow. Social time and refreshments begin at 6:00 p.m. with the evening's program being held from 6:30 to approximately 7:30 p.m. A brief business meeting concludes the evening. The public is invited to attend. There is no fee Safe Sitter October 6, 2017, 9:00 AM?-?3:30 PM @ Municipal Building, Rm. C Safe Sitter is a program for 11-14 year old where you will learn child care, skills, and safety skills to help you be safe if you're home alone or watching younger children. Bridge Building Workshop for VolunteersSaturday, October 28, 2017
This workshop will cover all the basics of how to build and maintain high-quality bridges for community trails. Perfect for Conservation Commissioners, local service clubs, land trust volunteers, private landowners, or anyone wanting to keep community trails high and dry. You’ll learn terminology about different types of structures like puncheon, stringer bridges, and bog bridges. Building and maintaining bridges can be expensive, so you’ll learn how to answer the first question land mangers ask: Is a bridge the best solution to my problem? You’ll learn how to assess the condition of the trail, and how to deal with water, banks, and recreational uses. Proceeds from the pumpkin sales will go to support Friends of Forgotten Children, New Hampshire Food Bank and Disaster Relief.
