Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Collection Day
Saturday, October 7, 20178:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Bow Community Building parking lot We will again have a company collecting electronics and computer related items for a modest fee.
WHAT TO BRING Fluorescent bulbs Waste oil Household chemicals Fertilizers Smoke detectors Household batteries (rechargeable only) Mercury thermometers Anti-freeze Oil-based paint Auto batteries Electronics & Computer-related Items (there will be a modest fee collected for electronics) Old sneakers

Calendar Highlights 13th Annual Pumpkin Patch October 5, 2017 - October 31, 2017 @ Bow Mills United Methodist Church Bow Mills UMC will host its 13th Annual Pumpkin Patch with 1,000 pumpkins covering our front lawn. Pumpkins of all shapes and sizes … for all your needs! Bring your family, neighbors and friends … take pictures! Proceeds from the pumpkin sales will go to support Friends of Forgotten Children, New Hampshire Food Bank and Disaster Relief.
Active Listeners October 5, 2017, 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM @ Baker Free Library This program is geared for children under 3 with an adult. It takes place Thursday mornings at 10:30. This is a 30 minute interactive program for the very young including simple fingerplays, elementary flannel boards, very short books, and easy movement activities.
Ask a Muslim Anything with Robert Azzi October 5, 2017, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM @ Baker Free Library Join Robert Azzi for his very popular discussion about anything related to Islam and the Muslim faith. Doors open at 6 PM for seating in our Merrimack County Savings Bank Meeting Room in the Lower Level.

FREE Yoga Classes for Bow residents October 7, 2017, 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM @ Baker Free Library Due to a collaboration with YogaNH (Concord, NH), the library is pleased to offer FREE 1-hour yoga classes each month to Bow residents and library card holders! Classes are suitable for all levels. The Class will be held in the Library's Lower Level. Because the class is being held outside of library operating hours, participants will need to enter through the Lower Level door near the handicapped parking and ramp. Please bring proof of residency (driver's license) or a current Baker Free Library card in order to participate, along with your yoga mat. Questions? Contact Lori at 224-7113.

Bridge Building Workshop for VolunteersSaturday, October 28, 2017
This workshop will cover all the basics of how to build and maintain high-quality bridges for community trails. Perfect for Conservation Commissioners, local service clubs, land trust volunteers, private landowners, or anyone wanting to keep community trails high and dry. You’ll learn terminology about different types of structures like puncheon, stringer bridges, and bog bridges. Building and maintaining bridges can be expensive, so you’ll learn how to answer the first question land mangers ask: Is a bridge the best solution to my problem? You’ll learn how to assess the condition of the trail, and how to deal with water, banks, and recreational uses.
