The Blind Exemption Program

The Blind Exemption program is a property tax relief program for residents that are visually impaired. The exemption reduces the taxable value of the real estate of qualifying residents. 

Criteria

To qualify, you or your spouse must be determined to be legally blind and must have a certificate from the Blind Services Division of the Vocational Rehabilitation Division of the State Education Department. The owner must reside at the property for which exemption is claimed.

Exemption Amount

The amount of the exemption is currently set at $75,000

Forms needed:

A certification letter from State of New Hampshire Bureau of Services for Blind and Visually Impaired must be submitted along with a completed PA-29 Form. 

If your property is held in a trust, you must supply a copy of the trust and a filled out  PA-33 and submitted.

Applications may be obtained from the Assessing Office and must be filed by April 15th.
