Public Works
The Bow Department of Public Works strives to provide the best service possible for the residents of Bow. We feel the safety of our neighbors is our most important goal. The Public Works Department is responsible for:
- Cemeteries and Grounds Division
- Fleet Maintenance Division
- Highways Division
- Public Buildings Division
- Trash & Recycling Services
- Water & Sewer Services
We work very closely with all the other departments in Town and provide and receive assistance when needed.
Ride Along Program
We have in place a" Ride Along Program" where we allow residents to accompany us while plowing or sanding. This gives residents a better understanding of our operation as well as exposing us to suggestions offered by the public.
Drainage Structures Installed by Abutters
RSA 236:13, VI provides that all private driveway connections, including related drainage structures like culverts, remain the continuing responsibility of the landowners--even if they are sited within the highway right of way and regardless of whether the driveway pre-dates the town's driveway permit system.
If any driveway connection threatens the highway due to plugged culverts, siltation, etc., the planning board or its designee can order the owner to repair it. If the owner doesn't, the town can do the repair and charge its costs to the owner. These costs cannot be added to a property tax bill.
